I build games, and I build the courses that teach people to make them.
Nine years of that, most of it in game development education. I design combat systems on one side of the desk and write the curriculum that gets a twelve year old shipping their first playable on the other.
Short version
I have a physics degree and a correlate in math from Vassar, and I have spent most of my career since then in game development education. I led a roughly ten person team that took an online game dev learning platform from a vague idea to hundreds of active students and about twenty public school partners. I wrote the curriculum that runs on it. Before that I designed a year-long game dev program taught across dozens of Orange County schools and trained the instructors who delivered it.
I also just make games. Mostly solo, mostly combat-heavy, and often live in front of students so they can watch someone hit a bug and work through it.
